Morogoro, Tanzania | 24 September 2026
Some days are measured in business results. Others are measured in the smiles you earn along the way. On 24 September 2026, representatives from Lenovo Foundation and Red Dot Distribution travelled to Morogoro to spend the day at Darul Muslimin Orphanage and School, where the belief that every child deserves a safe and welcoming place to learn and grow guided everything we did.
Renovations That Started Before the Visit
The visit was the final chapter of a longer effort. In the weeks before, Lenovo Foundation and Red Dot Distribution directed funding towards upgrading the orphanage and school. The work included room repairs, new cabinets, fresh paint, kitchen upgrades and wider improvements across the premises.
A clean, comfortable building changes daily life for the children who live and study there. Better spaces support learning, build confidence and give young people a stronger sense of belonging. Because these upgrades stay in place long after the visitors leave, the children will benefit from them every single day.

A Train Ride and a Heartfelt Welcome
Our teams travelled to Morogoro by train, which gave colleagues from both organisations time to talk and reflect on why they were making the trip.
The welcome at Darul Muslimin made the journey worthwhile. The children greeted us with handmade signs full of gratitude and warmth. The messages were simple, yet they said a great deal about how far a small act of kindness can go when someone feels seen and valued.
Gifts, Supplies and Shared Moments
We handed out essential items, gifts and school supplies to the children. The supplies will help in the classroom, while the gifts added excitement and joy to the day.
What stood out most was the time spent together. We shared meals, joined in games and activities, and simply enjoyed one another’s company. Job titles faded into the background, and the day became about conversation, laughter and connection. For our teams it was a chance to see community engagement up close. For the children it was a day of attention, encouragement and the fun of hosting guests.
Why This Partnership Matters
For Red Dot Distribution, working with partners goes beyond bringing technology to markets across the region. It also means supporting the communities where we operate. Our collaboration with Lenovo Foundation reflects a shared view that business success should create benefits beyond the workplace.
The Darul Muslimin project combined practical help with a personal touch. Renovations met the institution’s immediate needs, while the visit built relationships that strengthen the partnership. We believe social responsibility has the greatest effect when it becomes an ongoing commitment rather than a single event.

Looking Ahead
The story of Darul Muslimin Orphanage and School does not end with one day. The renovated rooms will serve students for years, the supplies will be put to everyday use, and the bonds formed in Morogoro will carry forward.
Change can start in small ways, such as repairing a room, handing over a notebook or sharing a meal. Sometimes it is simply showing up and reminding a child that they matter.
Lenovo Foundation and Red Dot Distribution look forward to supporting more communities and young people across the region, building on the spirit of this visit.
